Entries

A centre must be registered as an OCR centre to make entries for Asset Languages external assessments. If you are not registered please click here .

How to make entries

Step 1 - Estimated Entries

Before making final entries, registered centres should first make estimated entries. Please make these as early as you can in the academic year.

  • Estimated entries are your best estimate of the number of candidates that will be entered for a particular assessment during the whole academic year.
  • We despatch speaking materials for the whole year on the basis of your estimated entries.
  • Estimated entries do not commit you to entering for particular assessments.
  • There is no fee charged for estimated entries.

Please download and complete the one or other of the forms below to make estimated entries for either standard Asset assessments or for the new Asset for the World of Work assessment. Please remember for estimated entries we need your best estimate for the total number of candidates you intend to enter for each qualification during the course of the academic year. There is no need to break this down by the testing window (e.g. January, March etc).

Step 2 - Final Entries

After making estimated entries, centres should make final entries to meet the deadline for the appropriate testing windows. For the deadline dates please click here.

Final entries must be made for each candidate for each assessment and option required.

  • Final entries give us your centre’s detailed data for each candidate for each assessment to be taken.
  • OCR uses final entry information to send you the correct assessment materials.

Please see the Final Entries Guide Below for more information

   Final Entries Guide

There are two main methods of making final entries, described below

1) EDI

Centres which normally use Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to submit entries to the UK awarding bodies may also do so for Asset Languages external assessments.

To obtain basedata, centres should go to the OCR website. Basedata will be published there by the following dates:

2) Online Entries and Results System

For centres which do not usually use EDI to submit entries, the main method of making final entries for Asset Languages is via the Online Entries and Results System. This is located at

https://entries.assetlanguages.org.uk

(You may need to copy and paste this link into your browser.)

To make your entries on the System, your centre must first agree to the website Terms of Use:

pdf   Online Entries and Results System Terms of Use

Once your centre has returned the signed Terms of Use (by fax on 01223 556083 or by post), a password and login details will be emailed to the Asset Languages Exams Officer.

Entries can either be made directly on the website or by uploading a spreadsheet. Spreadsheet templates can be downloaded from the Online Entries and Results System.

Instructions on how to use the Entries System can be found in the System User Guide:

A third method of entry is available if necessary:

  • Centre number
  • Centre name
  • Number of forms required (1 per 20 candidates)

Please allow at least 2 weeks to receive these forms.
