Asset Languages Training
Go straight to information on
We offer Centre Coordinator training to help teachers learn how to use Asset Languages in their centre. This is a one-day training course which will be FREE until the end of 2008.
Centre Coordinator training covers:
- Introduction to the Asset Languages scheme
- Asset Languages assessment philosophy and approach
- Overview of assessment materials
- Role and responsibilities of Centre Coordinators
- Administration procedures
- Cascading training
- Computer-based testing.
Centre Coordinator training does not lead to Accredited Teacher Status – Accredited Teacher training takes the form of straightforward self-access materials that you complete and return to us. Accreditation materials are provided with Teacher Assessment Packs and are only required if you wish to order the Grade Awards for completion of Teacher Assessment tasks. You NO longer need to be Accredited to make entries for external assessments. (See Becoming Accredited.)

If you are not able to attend our standard sessions above, we are working with local authority advisers, schools and Comenius centres to arrange local sessions.
If you have ten centres in your area who have not yet been to Centre Coordinator training and you would be interested in hosting a session, please contact us at assetlanguages@ocr.org.uk for further information.
We also run Cluster Support Groups in different regions around the country. These are designed to help centres to implement Asset Languages at their centre and to give support and advice on the best ways to use Asset Languages. To find your nearest Cluster Support Group please email assetlanguagesclustersupport@ocr.org.uk .
OCR’s training arm, Mill Wharf Training has produced a portfolio of continuing professional development courses to help teachers and senior management teams get the most from implementing Asset Languages in their centre, for students and staff.
The courses provide practical support for the introduction of Asset Languages and complement the free information sessions offered by OCR.
You can see full details of the courses and download booking forms on the Mill Wharf Website.
