Fees and Finances
For teacher assessment, the minimum purchase is a pack of photocopiable masters. This covers a whole stage of the Languages Ladder and can be reused again for several year groups. Costs for a Teacher Assessment Pack start from just over £80 for a primary context Breakthrough pack, up to £155 for a secondary or post-16 context Advanced pack.
Teacher assessment can be enhanced through the use of high-quality Grade Award certificates, sold in packs starting at a cost of 34 pence per certificate.
(If you wish to reward students with Grade Award certificates for their success in tasks from the Teacher Assessment Pack, centres must have access to an appropriate Accredited Teacher. Self access training material to become an Accredited Teacher is supplied free of charge with each Teacher Assessment Pack. Alternatively, it can be ordered separately through the publications catalogue at a small cost.)
For external assessment, centres must be registered. This is free. There are entry fees for external assessments for each individual skill. Prices per candidate range from £1 per skill for primary context assessments to between £3.70 and £8.50 per skill for secondary or adult contexts, depending on the level. The total cost of entering all four skills at Intermediate Stage is comparable with a corresponding GCSE or Entry Level qualification.
