Asset Languages for the World of Work
World of Work is the Asset Languages qualification with an applied element. Success in our World of Work assessments leads to nationally-recognised qualifications which are equivalent in standard to a GCSE. World of Work rewards learners who are keen on business and languages.
- World of Work qualifications can flexibly support a variety of language courses in French, German and Spanish.
- World of Work is offered at Preliminary Stage (equivalent in standard to Foundation GCSE, grades D to G) and Intermediate Stage (equivalent in standard to Higher GCSE, grades A* to C).
- Like other Asset assessments, World of Work has the advantage of testing the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing separately.
- Vocabulary tested is set in a broad vocational context - related to general work environment and experience - rather than being specific to a particular field or industry.
- World of Work qualifications are targeted at 14+ learners.
- The standard of vocabulary and grammar required for World of Work Preliminary and Intermediate Stage is the same as general Asset assessments.
Like other Asset tests, World of Work can reward learners for the progress they make in small steps, and in separate skills, throughout the year. Click here to read how one school is using Asset World of Work.
