Asset Languages structure

Asset Languages qualifications are mapped to the National Qualifications Framework as follows:

Advanced:

Level 2 GCSE (A* to C) 7 – EP B1
Preliminary:
Grades 4 to 6

Breakthrough:
Grades 1 to 3
Entry Level Entry 1 – 3 1 – 3 A1 (A2)

Asset Intermediate Stage (Level 2) qualifications, for example, are equivalent in standard to the A* to C Grade GCSE.


Achievement and attainment table points

Asset Languages externally-assessed qualifications attract achievement and attainment table points. More information on achievement and attainment tables can be found on the education department's website.

Advanced
Each Asset Languages Advanced qualification counts for 10% towards the Level 2 (A*-C) and Level 1 (D-G) thresholds. (So 4 quals count for 40%). Additionally Advanced qualifications contribute 6.25% each towards the Level 3 threshold.

As a reminder, the points value of GCSEs are as follows:
E grade = 28 points, D = 34, C = 40, B = 46, A = 52, A* = 58.
