Asset Languages Computer-Based Testing

Please note: As of May 2010, computer-based testing is unavailable. It is due to resume in 2011/12.

How does Computer-Based Testing Work?

computer mouseAsset Languages computer-based tests use Cambridge Assessment's own 'Connect Control' software to download and administer tests and to upload candidate responses. There is no need for the centre to maintain and securely store scripts ahead of an exam, or to package and post scripts at the end of a test and to store or destroy exam papers.

We use an initial eligibility process to ensure that centres have the technological capability as well as a level of in-house technical support that will enable the test to run smoothly on the day.
Our system requires internet access ahead of the test and immediately following the test but to avoid problems of linkage and security, the test itself is taken off-line.
Connect Control software is required to be installed on your computer network and Connect Station software on each candidate machine. Full installation and setup guides are supplied. There will also be a training CD and telephone support.
Computer-Based Testing  - Demonstration files

The files below are 'help movies' designed as a support tool for centres getting used to the Asset Languages Computer Based Tests. They also give you an idea of what the CB Tests look like and how they work.

These CBT demonstration files require you to have a Macromedia Flash player installed on your computer and a sound card / speakers installed to hear the help commentary.

Click on the name of the file to launch the demonstration in a new window or right click and then click on Save Target as.. to save a copy to your own computer.
