Fees and Finances
Basic cost information:
- Initial registration is Free. Registartion is only required if you wish to make entries for external assessment
- Centre Coordinator Training is free until the end of 2008. This one day course will help you get started with Asset Languages in your centre.
- Teacher accreditation is also free (materials are provided as part of the Teacher Assessment Pack or replacement materials can be purchased for a small fee). Teacher Accreditation is only required if you wish to offer Grade Awards to your learners for completing Teacher Assessment tasks. It is NO longer required in order to be able to enter for external assessment
Other costs depend on the stage and context and the way in which the qualification is used.
For teacher assessment the minimum purchase is a pack of photocopiable masters, which cover a whole stage and can be reused again for several year groups. Costs for the Teacher Assessment packs start from £80 for a primary context Breakthrough pack to £151 for a secondary or post-16 context Advanced pack.
Teacher assessment can be enhanced through the use of high-quality Grade Award certificates, sold in packs at a cost of 27 pence per certificate.
(To purchase Grade Award certificates, centres must have access to an appropriate Accredited Teacher.)
For external assessment the total cost of entering all four skills at Intermediate Stage is comparable with a corresponding GCSE or Entry Level qualification. Prices per candidate range from £1 per skill for primary context assessments to £3.60 - £8.25 per skill for secondary or adult contexts, depending on the level.
